MGSO4: Epsom & Ewell Arts Festival is a week-long community arts festival of live performances, workshops, exhibitions and interactive events, throughout the town. It aims to celebrate the town's rich history through music, visual arts, theatre, dance and literature. The name of the festival - MGSO4 - is inspired by the chemical formula for Epsom Salts, that first made the town famous. We aim to deliver inspiring, inclusive creative activities.
Why the community needs usMGSO4 Festival will give people who have traditionally felt excluded from the creative arts the confidence to participate. It will offer new opportunities to experience high-quality activities locally, and our volunteers are proactive in working with partners to include: disabled people, isolated older people and young people, who are less likely to access creative arts activities.
Our impact on the communityMore than 3000 people participated in an event or project at the previous festival, with many more benefitting from the new networks we have established. MGSO4 Festival volunteers are working with schools in the borough of Epsom & Ewell on arts and music projects designed to bring the community together and encourage innovation.
