Working with young people and disabled people who grow up facing social exclusion, poverty, poor living conditions, neglect, abuse and insecurity providing education, training and support.
Why the community needs usWe work in communities that are very seriously disadvantaged and where socially excluded young people and disabled people have very limited opportunities.
Our impact on the communityOnce young people start to feel better about themselves, they start to treat other people better, then start to care about the people and places around them, and before long they get back to school, 'sort themselves out' and look forward to life.
Our ViTaL enterprise programme is always really happy to hear from anyone who has some spare time to help out in their community with social action projects. At Young Potential we describe social action as ... doing what you love doing, but for a purpose. Opprtunities to get involved range from basic tasks like admin, stock taking, cleaning and organising to full scale project development and management. We run a Theatre and 2 recording studios, a community garden and a shop.
