Purpose

We aim to empower deaf children and young people; to help overcome barriers caused by hearing loss; to help build confidence and self-esteem and to be user-led.

Why our community needs our service

Deafness is a hidden disability where deaf children and young people frequently experience social isolation, reduced communication and low esteem. Families often find it hard to know how to help their child and enable them to reach their potential.

Results and outcomes

Our work increases independence, self-esteem and confidence in deaf children. We gather feedback to measure our outcomes. Comments about workshops include ' gave us all a positive experience', 'great fun!', 'good to see deaf role models'.
