About

Between 2006 and 2015 my friendship groups lost four loved ones to suicide, within the family and friendship groupings the effects are still felt today. I am privileged to have known and spent many happy hours with my departed friends, they were all special people and are still missed today. My vision is to make a journey by sailboat from Donegal Bay around the North of Scotland followed by a clockwise lap of Ireland, the voyage will raise funds in support of the psychotherapy and counselling services at Aisling Centre, a community-based service for those in need of mental wellness support.  Aisling Centre is very dependent on donations and volunteering.  My hope in undertaking this journey is that we will complete it safely, raise at least £10,000 for Aisling Centre and in doing so that this essential funding will in some way help prevent another tragic loss of life to Suicide. Alan Currans
