ESCAPE Support Group offers activities and support to families with children with disabilities
ESCAPE Support Group is a Somerset based charity that provides activities, days out, events and mini-breaks for children who have disabilities, learning difficulties, or specific individual needs, and their families.
Why the community needs usAs a result of the needs of our children, they have limited access to services and facilities outside of the family home To counteract these issues we offer our families a wide range of activities, events, day trips and occasional short break holidays. Through these trips we want our children to experience a fun positive childhood and to be integrated fully into mainstream life. They will be given opportunities to share experiences that will enhance and enrich their lives.
Our impact on the communityWe know we have got it right when new families return. Their confidence and self esteem is often extremely low and joining ESCAPE takes huge strength. A positive first experience leads them to becoming regular participants. This a huge step to realising that life can get easier with support and friendship. We are a vital link in helping these families to have a positive, inclusive, exciting and happy life.
