Addressing the underlying causes of poverty through food aid, outreach care, and work opportunities
To relieve financial hardship amongst people of all ages in the local communities in accordance with a Christian ethos.
We do this in three separate yet interconnected ways; (a) provision of food aid to the vulnerably housed who cannot afford to eat; (b) provision of outreach care by way of a team of well trained outreach care volunteers providing one-to-one support; (c) providing pathways into work through our LabourBANK initiative so that dependency on benefits and charity is broken.
Why the community needs usThe main beneficiaries are local families and individuals who are trapped in a miserable life of poverty. The local community benefits as the work we do contributes towards social transformation on a community wide level. We actively work in partnership with the main local community groups, local and central government, the local church and local businesses to have a fundamental and positive influence on local people and local communities.
Our impact on the communityThe work we do with the individual builds relationship, creates community, restores dignity, rebuilds confidence, builds self respect, & encourages each into a better place in life. Typcial outcomes vary and are based on an individual's circumstance. Included are: prevention of hunger, help out of debt, improved concentration at school, improved health and personal hygiene, prevention of loss of home, help into employment, improved family relationships, help out of addiction, help out of crime.
