Campus Skatepark are looking to redeveloped the former Bishopsworth Swimming Pool Site into a indoor concrete skatepark and community hub. Our aim is to positively engage young people through skatepark based activities, providing a facility for the local and wider community that is both excellent and sustainable. With your help we are looking to raise the £40 000,00 needed for the transformation of a derelict site into a valuable community resource.
Why the community needs usBy redeveloping the the site into a indoor skatepark and community hub we will be providing a indoor skatepark that is open 7 days a week for an average of 8 hours per day. During opening hours we will have trained youth workers on site who will be available to support young people. We also hope to open a community cafe that will provide a hub for local residents to meet and socialise.
Our impact on the communityBy redeveloping Bishopsworth pool site we hope to provide a indoor concrete skatepark that will attract 3000 different people in its first year. Provide a space for around 200 young people in year 1 to get individual support from qualified youth workers and mentors. A cafe that will be open all day where the local community can meet and socialise. There will also be volunteering opportunities both in the skatepark and in the cafe.
The primary voluntary position is that of a youth worker in order to help us run both or open access and targeted youth work sessions. Sessions run both during regular working hours as well as evenings and weekends.
